Calling all Canine Cutie-Pies! Organizers of the 2023 Arkansas Pie Festival are pawsitively thrilled that so many well-behaved dogs have attended previous festivals, and it is hoped that they will return and bring friends to Cherokee Village Town Center for this year’s festival on Saturday, April 29.

The Spring River Area Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Awards & Inauguration Banquet on March 28. The event was sold out with 270 atttendees and featured a presentation by Cathy Drew with Ozark Gateway Tourism about preparing for the April 8, 2024 eclipse, induction of board members and presentation of Member of the Year, E. Wilson Green, Future Leader and more awards.
The Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village will host a community ice cream Fun-Fundraiser for the Mission of Hope Food Pantry on Saturday, April 15, 1-4 p.m. The event will be on the church grounds, the first church on the right behind Casey’s after turning into the south entrance to Cherokee Village off Hwy. 62/412.
Mammoth Spring VFW Auxiliary #7831 will be sponsoring Reunion Bingo or “Quarter Bingo” beginning May 6 at the Post Home on highway 9 southwest of Mammoth Spring. Games will begin promptly at 5 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. All proceeds will go to help area veterans and support the auxiliary’s projects for veterans. If you would like to join the VFW Auxiliary, please contact President June Grant. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Post Home.
On Saturday, April 15 at 10 a.m., Friends of the Ash Flat Library will host another “seed” seminar to be presented by Master Gardener John Norberg. He will be speaking about growing plants in containers and raised gardens in a presentation he calls “Say Goodbye to Boring Gardens” or “Ooppsy Gardening for Summer-long Color.”
