WBU graduation set for May 6

Williams Baptist University will confer diplomas to 135 graduates during the 2023 commencement ceremony, Saturday, May 6. The event begins at 10 a.m. in the Southerland-Mabee Center on campus. Graduates from 10 departments including Business, Christian Ministries, Criminal Justice, Education, English, History, Liberal Arts, Music, Natural Science, Psychology and Sports Management will receive master’s, bachelor’s and associate’s degrees.

Singing event

Heart Desire from Jonesboro, Arkansas, will be in concert Saturday night, May 6, at 6 p.m. at the Ash Flat Church of God, 124 Arnhart Ash Flat, Arkansas, street behind the courthouse. Angels Among Us 2023, recognized and awarded

ebrown@cherryroad.com At a banquet held on Friday, April 21 at the Fulton County Fairgrounds, the Angels Among Us search, an unprecedented project spearheaded by CherryRoad Media and the local newspapers of north central Arkansas and southern Missouri, came to its fruition in 2023. Angels from Fulton and Izard counties (The News), Sharp County (Villager Journal) and Oregon County (South Missourian News) were each recognized and awarded with a plaque and a rose and a huge round of applause of appreciation from family, friends and the community.

Highland’s Parish signs with ASU— Mountain Home

Highland Rebels senior Carly Parish has received an offer from Arkansas State University—Mountain Home Trailblazers to be a part of its softball team next season. Carly has put the work in for so many years. She’s played competitively since she was just a little girl. She’s no stranger to hard work, both on and off the softball field. Carly excels in the classroom, too. She’s been such an asset to this program and to many others throughout her time as a Rebel, and she’s going to be greatly missed in the upcoming year.
