BATESVILLE, AR – The Lyon College Gospel Choir, under the direction of Barretta Robinson, will present its spring concert, “Promised Savior,” on Sunday, April 16, at 4 p.m. in the Sloan Auditorium of Brown Chapel on the Lyon College campus, 2300 Highland Rd., Batesville.
Strawberry River Chapter met April 1 with 10 members present. Arkansas State Regent Gale Markley was our special guest. Following the opening ritual, delegates were elected to the upcoming Shawnee District meeting in May. The State Regent presented her administration’s goals and projects which will be highlighted during her three-year term 202225.
The Keep Hardy Beautiful Campaign will kick off May 1 through May 5, 2023. The City of Hardy is encouraging all residents and area volunteers to pitch in and help keep the City of Hardy beautiful! Area volunteers may come to Hardy City Hall to pickup FREE cleanup supplies.

Professionals in this sector must be versatile, adaptable, committed to the organization’s mission, and dedicated to making a positive impact on society. Similar to for-profit enterprises, the majority of nonprofit organizations are considered small, with approximately half of all nonprofit employees working in small nonprofits. These small organizations account for 99 percent of nonprofits with fewer than 500 employees and provide employment to 45 percent of nonprofit workers. Data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Statistics of U.S. Businesses reveals that the median number of employees for a nonprofit employer business is four, thus often requiring nonprofit professionals to possess a diverse skill set and wear multiple hats.
It’s almost Earth Day, when people around the world focus on ways of protecting and preserving the environment. And the lessons from this occasion can be applied to other areas of life — such as investing.
