The Annual Property Owners’ Golf Tournament in Cherokee Village is just around the corner! It will be held on Saturday, April 22 at the North Golf Course with a 9 a.m. start time. This is one to kickoff the season that you will not want to miss!
Celebrate Earth Day at Mammoth Spring National Fish Hatchery
Mammoth Spring National Fish Hatchery will celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with many great activities available while supplies last. Activities will include wildlife/ habitat activities such as bird feeders, Arkansas Forestry Commission, native wildflower seed planting and mussel booth. Arts and crafts will include recycled material art, fish prints and bee house. Outdoor skills activities will feature fly tying, an agriculture station and compost education station. Patrons may register at the front door for a chance to win a door prize.
Salem students score big at state science fair
A needed break took place due to a tornado warning during the 2023 Arkansas State Science and Engineering Fair but once resumed, Salem students scored highly to bring home prizes and cash. According to Salem biology teacher Katie Southard, 11 projects from Salem students made up part of the 218 participants when the fair took place between March 31 and April 1 at UCA—Conway.
