Correction

In the article titled “Cherokee Village Police Department celebrates…” in the May 3 issue of the Villager Journal, an unfortunate mistake was made in the wording of a sentence regarding Cherokee Village City Council decisions made in November 2022. In the article on page 6, the sentence in question is “Mayor Rose reminded council he never asked for health insurance or a raise over what Mayor Stokes’ salary had been prior to November when Stokes lowered it.” It should read “… over what Mayor Stokes’ salary had been prior to November when council lowered it.” The reporter and editorial staff of the Villager Journal sincerely apologize for any confusion this miswording may have caused.

04-23-2023 Carolyn H. Merritt, 81, of Rossville, Tenn., passed from this life on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at the Pine Meadows Healthcare Center in Bolivar, Tenn., where she was currently recouping from a fall injury.
