Ah yes summer break. The time of year where the mornings are no longer filled with a mad dash to get out the door. The cabinets and cupboards nearly empty each day no matter how many groceries you bought the day before. Where some of your children stay up until 4 a.m. playing video games with friends and cousins from across the country. And then summer sports training camps kick in, and your mornings are filled with that same mad dash out the door each day.

Holding the Post Office Accountable

An unreliable United States Postal Service (USPS) is an unfortunate reality for far too many residents of the First District. Lengthy delivery delays have left people citizens unable to pay bills on time or receive life-saving medications and supplies. This is unacceptable and something I have been working to address.

Arkansas House

Employment in Arkansas has increased for seven consecutive months. The latest report from the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services shows the unemployment rate at 2.8%. By comparison, the national unemployment rate is 3.4%. Compared to this time last year, there are 12,869 additional employed Arkansans. While low unemployment rates are indicative of a healthy and growing economy, our efforts for economic development don’t end there.

DEATH NOTICES

Juanita “Beth” (Moore) Honey, 75, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., died May 13 at her residence. Arrangements are under the direction of Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland, Ark.
