In an annual presentation, students, teachers and faculty of Viola Elementary School honored seven area military veterans on Thursday, May 11. According to Aemi Thompson, president of the VFW Auxiliary in Salem, each veteran received a coin, plaque and a round of applause.
Jared Phay, head coach of the Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Basketball team, has signed Riley Whiteaker of Calico Rock, Arkansas, for the 2023-2024 season. Whiteaker put pen to paper Tuesday, May 9, during a signing ceremony at the school with his high school coaches Alex Skidmore and Jeff Whiteaker and his family by his side.
The Sharp County Regional Airport Authority (SCRAA) met on Wednesday, May 3 at 3 p.m. at the Sharp County Airport in Cherokee Village. General Manager (GM) and Board Chairman Al Damazio called the meeting to order.
