Baxter Health re-designated as a National Infant Safe Sleep Certified Hospital

Baxter Health recently received re-designation by the National Infant Safe Sleep Certification Program as a Gold-Level National Safe Sleep Certified Hospital. Baxter Health was first recognized as a Gold-Level Certified Hospital in 2018. This recognition is awarded for Baxter Health’s commitment to best practices and education on infant safe sleep in the Women & Newborn Care Center.

2023 Kevin King Memorial Scholarship recipients announced

Circuit Judge Kevin King was a graduate of Highland High School in 1972, the University of Arkansas in 1976, and the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1978. He served the counties of Sharp, Lawrence, Randolph, and Jackson counties as Circuit Judge of the Third Judicial District. Judge King was always concerned about the welfare of students. The Kevin King Memorial Scholarship was established to advance students through education.

Community Matters: Leadership Styles Part III

Leadership theories explore the dynamics between leaders, followers, and the broader organizational or societal context. By studying leadership theories, we gain insights into different leadership styles, behaviors, traits, and their impact on individuals, teams, and organizations. Continuing into Part III, we explore the transformational leadership theory and how leaders who convene can effectively implement the principles of this theory when collaborating with stakeholders.

Fulton County Fair entry deadlines announced

Fulton County Fair officials remind exhibitors that entry deadlines for creative arts exhibits and pageants and youth talent is July 1. The deadline for livestock entries, including poultry, rabbits and horses is July 10. Any livestock entries received after July 10 will be assessed a $10 additional entry fee. Livestock exhibitors who are not entered by July 17 will be assessed double entry fees. This applies to junior and open exhibitors. The ShoWorks program does not save passwords from previous years and exhibitors will need to select a new password for 2023. The fair website has links to online entries.
