Russellville, Ark – Ozark-St. Francis National Forests’ officials are pleased to announce the season-long 50th anniversary celebration of Blanchard Springs Caverns.

Carol LANGSTON Lyon College director of college communications BATESVILLE, AR – Lyon College recently announced that 120 students made the spring 2023 Dean’s List. Students must earn a 3.75 or higher GPA and take a minimum of 12 credit hours during the semester to appear on the list.

FAYETTEVILLE, AR—Derek Mullins of Ash Flat recently graduated from the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. Mullins joined more than 900 additional undergraduate Fulbright College students who graduated in spring 2023 and whose academic achievement was celebrated during the commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 12, in Bud Walton Arena.

Katie NORRIS Ozarka College director, PR, marketing For students interested in earning a degree at Ozarka College, the Arkansas Future Grant program covers tuition and fees for students entering one of Ozarka’s 50plus eligible degree/certificate programs. Every person who has graduated from a high school, home school or GED program in Arkansas; or anyone who has a high school diploma, has lived in Arkansas for the last three years, and has not yet earned an Associate’s degree are eligible to apply for the Arkansas Future Grant.

The JacksonStrong#PayitForward Scholarship Committee announced this year’s scholarship recipients. Due to our generous sponsors and successful golf tournaments we were able to award eight $500 scholarships to the following students.

Several beauty pageants will be held in conjunction with the 2023 Sharp County Fair, which will be July 10-15 at the fairgrounds on Fairgrounds Road, just off state Highway 167 about four miles south of Ash Flat.
