Moose Lodge hosts fish, shrimp dinner

Mountain Home Moose Lodge #1953 will hold its monthly all-u-can-eat fried fish and shrimp dinner Friday, July 7 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Guests may order fried fish, fried shrimp or a combination plate which also includes hushpuppies, French fries, coleslaw, vegetable, roll, dessert and a beverage. The event is open to members and qualified guests alike. Mountain Home Moose Lodge is located at 4754 Hwy 5 South, 2.5 miles south of the bypass in Mountain Home. Fulton County Democrats

The Democratic Party of Fulton County will meet for their quarterly meeting Monday night, July 10, at the Hickinbotham-Miller Bldg. at the Fulton County Fairgrounds in Salem. Social hour starts at 5:30 p.m. and the business meeting will start at 6:00 pm. The committee will be working on the booth for the Fulton County Fair and discussing membership and fundraising activities. All members and other interested persons are encouraged to attend and enjoy refreshments and fellowship before the meeting. The meeting is open to anyone and guests are always welcome.

Harvey Taylor pretrial set for September, ankle monitor remains

In Fulton County Circuit Court on Monday, June 26, Harvey John Taylor, 49, appeared with his defense attorney Benjamin Catterlin for a hearing to set pretrial and trial dates. Harvey John has been charged with murder in the first degree for the alleged shooting death of his wife Kristy May Taylor, that occurred on July 9, 2022, at their home located at 3012 Fawnwood Road southwest of Viola.

Boozman statement on Supreme Court’s ruling on student loan cancelation

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman (RAR) released the following statement following the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on the president’s student loan cancelation overreach. “I’m pleased the Supreme Court overturned this attempt to bail out likely high-income earners at the expense of taxpayers who never went to college and those who fulfilled their obligation to pay off their debt. This reckless plan wasn’t authorized by Congress, but the solution to higher education affordability must include the legislative branch. I support legislation that increases access to college opportunities without excessive financial burdens.”
