New coach, new league for the ICC Cougars football team

There will be a lot of new things happening to the Izard County Consolidated Cougars football team this year.The former 8-man state champions will be venturing into 11-man territory this season along with first year coach Chase Brody.Brody talked about the challenges coming into this season as the Cougars bring just five starters back this season.“Instilling the confidence that we belong in the 2A-2 was the biggest hurdle at the beginning of the summer,” Brody said.

State Capitol Week in Review

LITTLE ROCK – The Senate and House Education Committees are close to finalizing next year’s school funding formula.They have worked all year on the formula, in order to comply with the mandate in the Arkansas Constitution that requires the state to provide all children with an adequate and equitable education.Committee members have gone over hundreds of pages of data to prepare an adequacy report.
