United Way of North Central Arkansas proudly celebrates its continued commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals and families across the region.Serving the counties of Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, Sharp, and Stone, United Way of North Central Arkansas is dedicated to creating opportunities for education, financial stability, and health for all community members.United Way of North Central Arkansas has recently transitioned from a paid executive director position to a working and engaged board of directors as part of its evolving vision.

It has been a busy month and more at Cherokee Village Animal Control and the staff and volunteers have been recognized for their hard work recently as the shelter was recently named one of the 2025 Shelters of the Year by Best Friends Society, the Northwest Arkansas region.According to CV Animal Control volunteer Peggy Wenzel, Best Friends is an organization out of Utah with a local program out of Bentonville whose main goal is to work with shelters to stop euthanization.“We found Best Friends when searching for grants,” Wenzel said.

The unofficial results have been tallied for the 2024 general election cycle for Fulton and Sharp counties where alderman and justice of the peace seats were up for grabs in some contested races.The total vote counts for Fulton County were as follows:Justice of the Peace Dist.
