Jessie Verlene Underwood was born in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas the daughter of Verdis and Doris Hall on July 11, 1941 and departed this life on October 6, 2022 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 81 years.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth Underwood on April 19, 1960 in Salem, Arkansas. They spent sixty-two wonderful years together.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth, four children: Cyndi Underwood, Mike (Joy) Underwood, Kamie Doctor (Matt) and Steve (Dayna) Underwood, five grandchildren: Donald Doctor, Stephanie (Josh) Mink, Segan Underwood, Kelsea (Brandon) Martin and Lucas (Kathy) Underwood and one great grandson Han Martin; she was also survived by one sister-in-law Jenny Underwood and a host of nieces and nephews and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Carma and one brother Don.

Verlene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Thayer, Missouri.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mom and grandma and as a friend to many.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
