Quad Cities Rotary Club of Sharp County has two scholarships that are offered to current Highland High School graduates. One is the Rotary Scholarship which is a $500 scholarship that is offered to qualifying graduates. The student must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and plan to attend a 4-year college/university; a 2-year community college and/or a technology program or trades school. Proof of enrollment must be provided at the time of the presentation.
Area school districts will be looking to adjust or stay the course with its cell phone policies for students starting with the 2025-26 school year after Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed Act 122, The Bell To Bell, No Cell Act, on Feb. 21 with bipartisan support.

A slew of appropriations were made during the Feb. 27 Fulton County Quorum Court meeting, the meeting was postponed a week later due to the snow storm that came into the area a week prior. Among the appropriations approved was $5,000 for the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office for an audit from a private company to conduct the audit regarding the Act 309 volunteer program.
