Step aside basic photo scanners, there’s a faster, easier way to get those old photos and VCR recordings digitized, and it’s free at the Ash Flat Library.By the graces of a Giving Tree grant, offered to 501c3 non-profit organizations through the Arkansas Community Foundation, Sharp County, the Ash Flat Library was able to purchase the necessary equipment to digitize such media that might otherwise be lost and forgotten.

ICC receives tutoring grant from Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education

The Izard County School District announced it has received a $433,954 High Impact Tutoring Grant from the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education.This grant will allow the district to provide additional academic support for our students, as high impact tutoring has been shown to be one of the most effective interventions to accelerate student learning.This grant was written primarily by elementary principal Eve Hatman, with assistance from middle school principal Sarah Burns and STEM coordinator Courtney Selph.The many grants that the district consistently receives each year, the implementation of our STEM Program, and the rapid progress of our teachers in incorporating the Professional Learning Communities collaborative process, show how dedicated our staff is to our students.
