Free Wednesday, Jan. 18, 1 – 3 p.m. Mix acrylic paint colors to pour over a bowl with the excess flowing onto a tile, creating amazingly beautiful designs of color. Arkansas State Parks introduces Club 52 program

Visitors get reward items for stamped passports Arkansas State Parks is introducing Club 52, a rewards program that encourages people to visit all 52 state parks. Club 52 is an extension of the Arkansas State Parks Passport Program, which helps guests document trips to state parks by receiving a stamp (or stamp rubbing) in an Arkansas State Parks Passport. Club 52 members get their passports stamped when they visit a state park and earn rewards for visits of five parks, 25 parks and 52 parks.

Natural Resources Division reminds poultry operators to register

The Natural Resources Division and the Sharp County Conservation District wants to remind all owners of Poultry Feeding Operations (PFOs) that the annual registration for PFO’s began Jan. 1, 2023, in accordance with the Arkansas Poultry Feeding Operations Registration Act (Act 1060 of 2003). Registration dates will run through March 31, and affect any PFO with 2,500 or more confined fowl. This includes anyone that had birds in 2022.

Cherokee Village seeks applicants to fill vacant council seat

There is currently an empty seat on Cherokee Village City Council recently vacated by council member Chuck Kristopeit. Registered voters living in Ward 1 of Cherokee Village who are interested in filling the open seat must submit a petition of 10 signatures of registered voters from Ward 1 to city hall by 4 p.m., Jan. 11, 2023.
