Successful book sale hosted by Friends of the Paul Weaver Library

MELBOURNE, AR — The Ozarka College Friends of the Paul Weaver Library recently partnered with Melbourne’s Manna House Thrift Store to host their annual book sale. Held on Ozarka’s Melbourne campus, the event offered a variety of good quality used books, including arts & crafts, gardening, children’s books, as well as a large selection of paperback fiction. Proceeds from the Book Sale will go towards funding the Ozarka College Friends of the Library scholarship available for Ozarka students.

Moose Lodge hosts fried chicken dinner

The women of Mountain Home Moose Lodge will hold a fried chicken dinner fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 14 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu includes scrumptious fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, dessert and a beverage. Mountain Home Moose Lodge is located at 4754 Hwy. 5 South, 2.5 miles south of the by-pass in Mountain Home. The event is open to members and non-members who sign in as guests.

Glo-Ball tourney winners announced

The Tri-County Board of Realtors (TCBOR) held its First Annual Glo-Ball Golf Tournament at the Cherokee Village South Golf Course on Saturday, Sept. 24. This was a fundraising event for its scholarship program which gives scholarships to graduating seniors in the tricounty area-Sharp-Izard-Fulton counties.

Moose Lodge to host fish &shrimpdinner,Germanfest

Mountain Home Moose Lodge #1953 will hold its monthly all-u-can-eat fried fish and shrimp dinner on Friday, Oct. 7 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Guests may order fried fish, fried shrimp or a combination plate which also includes hushpuppies, French fries, coleslaw, vegetable, roll, dessert and a beverage. The event is open to members and qualified guests alike. Mountain Home Moose Lodge is located at 4754 Hwy 5 South, 2.5 miles south of the bypass in Mountain Home. Hardy Homesteaders Day 2022 was a great success!

Hardy Homesteaders Day was held Saturday, Sept. 24 in Hardy. Loberg Park was the site of over 30 demonstrators and a number of music performances throughout the day, while the General Store and other music performances were held along Main Street. Many of the participants were dressed in periodclothing of the 1890s and demonstrated a variety of activities commonly used by early homesteaders.
