In May of this year, the City of Cherokee Village City Council and Cherokee Village Suburban Improvement District, reached an agreement for CVSISD to deed the three fire houses located at Onaga, Waketa and Baseheart to the city.
Ash Flat’s Eagle Fest gets a fresh start in 2025 with a car show, vendors, kid zone, crafts and music on Saturday, Sept. 13 starting at 11 a.m. at Old City Park, located at 20 Arnhart Street in Ash Flat. The public is invited to come enjoy festivities for Eagle Fest. Car show registration opens at 9 a.m.
Several appropriations were approved with the help of grants during the Aug. 19 Fulton County Quorum Court meeting.
Happy, pictured here, would be so much happier if he was once again in a loving home. He was one of our Snow White puppies from a litter that was at CVAC this past winter. As one of the more unique gray pups, he was adopted quickly. But then he grew. And grew. His siblings strongly resembled labs but Happy decided to grow just a bit more and fill out until his adopters realized he was too big for them to handle. At about 8 months old, Happy has lived much of his life in a home and is looking for someone who will welcome a happy dog back into a home.
A question raised by property owner Dave Gruger received a response from Cherokee Village Suburban Improvement District commissioner Susan Jett and CVSID general manager Betsy Waugh regarding past due tax assessments from land purchased from the Arkansas Commissioner of State Lands.

Highland Rebels Varsity Football, led by head coach Sterling Stowers, is ready to go this 2025 season. With a full line-up of starters and back-up, they have a good mix of seasoned players and eager sophomores to add fresh steam to the varsity team.
