Skye is our adoptable of the week. Skye came to us along with two 3-month-old pups but now she is ready for an adoptive home. Skye has also been in foster for a period of several weeks so she has that recent living in the home experience. When you read about pit bulls, you will read about their wide smiles, and affectionate nature. And there she is in her photo, showing her beautiful smile.
It appears we have beaten the heat. Starting this past Friday, the weather went from heat indexes of 110 to a nice an cool 80 degrees. It gave the sensation fall was here.
This is Smiley, an adult male with herding dog in his heritage. He was very easy to name as Smiley is one of those dogs that smiles. He has great energy to go along with that smile. Smiley with a good brush out would be outstandingly handsome and while it is hot outside now, Smiley would make the coziest blanket curled up on your feet in cooler months. Come visit Smiley and see what he is named for…you’ll be smiling right back!
It is a word no one wants to hear but continues to have a stigma around it, particularly within the military and its veterans. The word suicide brings a gut-punch reaction to anyone that hears it and a tremble in the tone when someone says it.

Cody Owens, 30, made a plea arrangement in Fulton County Circuit Court on Monday, July 7 to a Class A misdemeanor theft charge stemming from an alleged fraud and theft case that was said to have occurred in 2024 when his father, Charles Owens, 56, was the manager of Tri-County Medical Supply and Respiratory Services in Salem.
