The 2nd annual Stop the Cycle Spay-Neuter golf tournament was held at the Turkey Mountan Golf Course in Horseshoe Bend recently. The tournament fundraiser raised $4,200 for the local nonprofit organization and Ken Bogert of Horseshoe Bend won $147 in the 50/50 drawing, according to Stop the Cycle member Aemi Thompson.
Baseball season wasn’t quite over by the athletic awards this year, so they waited until season was over to determine who would be taking home this year’s awards. Congratulations to Noah Powell on being named the MVP, Hunter Yates on the Gold Glove Award, and Cooper Irvin for being named Most Improved.
MAMMOTH SPRING — Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Chairman Bobby Martin loaded the first batch of rainbow trout Wednesday at the “ribbon-cutting” of the newly remodeled Jim Hinkle Spring River State Fish Hatchery in northeast Arkansas. The hatchery, Arkansas’s only state-owned cold water hatchery, supplies rainbow trout to 43 locations throughout The Natural State, including the famed White, Norfork and Spring rivers.
