The Salem Lady Greyhounds ended the week with a loss on April 7 to Tuckerman 9-1. Haydyn Friend was 1-3 with 1 RBI, Katy Walling went 2-3 at the plate and Callie Hall went 3–3 at the plate. On April 3, the Lady Greyhounds got the win over Cave City 14-4.

Viola Longhorns baseball roundup
In a double-header on April 4, the Viola Longhorns faced Koshkonong, Missouri, in a non-conference matchup. The Longhorns pulled away with two wins over the Bluejays; 9-1 in game one and 4-3 in game two.



Greyhound baseball highlights week of March 27-31
Salem played two games this week and won both. 15-0 vs conference foe Hoxie at home. 8-5 vs non-conference ICC Salem vs Hoxie Highlights March 28 Senior Matt Guffey started on the mound and walked the first hitter of the contest after getting ahead 0-2 (zero balls, 2 strikes). Guffey didn’t allow another hitter to reach base the rest of the game. This was Guffey’s first no-hitter in high school. He struck out 8 Hoxie Mustangs.
Greyhounds softball continues to roll
The Salem Lady Greyhound defeated Hoxie 11-1 on March 28. The Lady Greyhounds secured the victory thanks to six runs in the second inning. Livy Smith, Callie Hall, and Madalyn Miller each had RBIs in the frame.

Ouachita National Forest announces public scoping period for Mena Trails Project
HOT SPRINGS, AR — Public scoping opens today for a trail- and recreation-related infrastructure development project proposal on the Mena/Oden Ranger District of the Ouachita National Forest. The project, known as the “Trails at Mena Project,” is a proposal submitted to the US Forest Service from the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism-Division of Arkansas State Parks for a groundbreaking gravityoriented trail experience in Arkansas.
