The Highland Rebels earned a big win on Dec. 26, 2022, as they beat the Melbourne Bearkatz for the third time this season in the Bad Boy Mowers Ronnie Brogdon Invitational. The final score was 66-41. Dylan Munroe led all scorers with 22 points and was named the FNBC Player of the Game. Noah Powell added 14 and Sean Parkerson added 12. Arnhart, Burris, Jones, and Nelson contributed 8, 5, 3, and 2 respectively.
The TNT Gymnastics started their new season with a bang. In the first two meets of the season, they have earned a First Place Team Award, several individual All-Around champions and one gymnast with the highest overall score of the entire meet.
The Viola Longhorns senior boys’ basketball came away with their first conference win on Dec. 19 against Rural Special at home 4944.
In the first round of the annual Battle of the Border basketball tournament, the Viola Longhorns boys’ team advanced by defeating the Hillcrest Screamin' Eagles 40-27. Junior Braden Williams led all scorers with 12 points, followed by Peyton Love 9 points, Dawson Cotter 6 points, Nathan Snelgroes and Kendan Hart with 4 points each, Mason Jackson 3 points and Quade Perryman 2 points.
Congratulations to Keagan Statler, Gabe Hightower, and Gage Robinson for being named to the All-Conference team for football and to Zac Huckabee and Kalei Tokanang for an honorable mention. We're proud of these guys, and we're excited that four are underclassmen and will be back next season.

The Viola Longhorns boys’ team got their first win of the season against a talented Cotter Warrior team in the Annual Marvin Newton Classic on Dec. 10, 55-47. It was a great day of basketball and the Longhorns shower what they can do after a slow start to the season.
