Salem bests ICC in nonconference match-up
Salem Lady Greyhounds were away again on Monday. The team traveled to Izard County Consolidated against the Cougars for a non-conference match up.
Viola Longhorns compete at Turkey Mountain
The Viola Longhorns and Lady Longhorns competed in their second match of the season at Turkey Mountain on Aug. 16. On the ladies’ side, AJ McCandlis came in 2nd overall with Haylee Crotts coming in 7th. The Lady Longhorns tied for second place with team members, AJ McCandlis, Haylee Crotts, Sayde Waltrip, Kailey Hallmark and Emily Martin.
Football: Highland starts season with scrimmage against Salem
Scrimmage games are opportunities to find gaps in the game plan and identify ways to improve and prepare for the season; the Highland Rebels are ready to do just that. They’ll use the loss in Thursday’s scrimmage with the Salem Greyhounds to improve and prepare.
Highland Rebel Athletic Hall of Fame to recognize Class of 2022 honorees
The Highland Rebel Athletic Hall of Fame will honor its Class of 2022 with a reception sponsored by Centennial Bank at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2 in the A. L. Hutson Memorial Center on the campus of Highland High School. Honorees this year include Stephanie Harris Dunn, Coach Cindi Hansen, Terry Jamieson, and Richard Stowers. The public is invited to enjoy food from Rebel Timeout and visits with Rebel families and friends. Presentation of plaques again provided by FNBC Bank will be at halftime of the football game.
