Smallmouth Bass genetics study

District 9 biologists recently sampled Smallmouth Bass in tributaries of Illinois Bayou and the Mulberry River as part of a statewide Smallmouth Bass genetics study. Arkansas contains three native subspecies of Smallmouth Bass: Northern, Neosho, and Ouachita. Viola Longhorns look forward to upcoming golf season

Summer is coming to an end for the Longhorns with the first day of school scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 11. The Longhorns and Lady Longhorns have been working on their golf game and are ready to hit the course. The Lady Longhorns have three returning golfers, Senior-AJ McCandlis, Junior-Kailey Hallmark, Senior, Sayde Waltrip and have added three new team members, Juniors-Haylee Crotts, Emily Martin and Freshman-Addison Luther. Longhorns have one returning golfer, Junior-Braden Williams and have added an additional ten new team members, Seniors-Rowan James, AJ Kinder, Juniors-Gavin Blevins, Ryan Stone, Quade Perryman, Aiden Perry, Sophomores-Kody Hart, Seth Worsham and Freshman Beau Cowgill. The Lady Longhorns and Longhorns will participate in their first matches of the season on Aug. 11 at Turkey Mountain. The Longhorn Booster Association and the Viola Athletic Department want to wish them the best of luck this golf season!

CK II Ragball Memorial Tournament held

CK II Ragball Memorial Tournament was recently held at the Fulton County Recreational Complex. This year, the profits were donated to the Zeigler family and the complex. Taking home the championship rings for a consecutive year was the team LUND. Team WOOT WOOT won second place and third place went to D2 Creations. Stacey Robbins won a $200 Academy gift card.
