Charles Vernon Nelson, 90, of Salem, Ark., departed this life on Monday, April 17, 2023, at his home.

He was born on July 28, 1932, in Chariton, Iowa, the son of C. Wendell and Clara (Anderson) Nelson. Chuck served our country in the United States Navy. During his working years, Chuck worked as a Fireman and was a farmer in Fulton County for 50 years. He was united in marriage to Carol F Radde on July 9, 1955, in Chicago, Ill. and they celebrated 68 years together. Chuck enjoyed fishing and spending time with his VFW friends. He was an award-winning marksman and 32nd Degree Mason. Chuck belonged to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Salem where he served as an elder.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol Nelson of Salem, Ark. and daughter, Connie Jo Nelson of Salem, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother,
