Highland Elks Lodge #2539 in Cherokee Village held a “Puppy Bowl” at the Lodge on Feb. 11, where Lodge members donated 245 pounds of dog food, 26 pounds of cat food, 16 dog collars, cleaning supplies and $290 cash which was given to Cherokee Village Animal Control, a city-run facility that handles animals within the city limits. They strive to provide caring, competent and professional assistance to the community and to find homes for the animals. They rely heavily on volunteers and donations.
