Evert Cecil Brickell passed away October 13th, 2022 and went to be with his Lord at the age of 87. He was born in Craighead County, Arkansas on April 29th, 1935.
Cecil was a graduate of Lepanto High School, the Class of ’52. He attended Arkansas State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He helped take care of the family farm until he began his teaching career. He taught Math and Chemistry for 35 years in Roswell, New Mexico public schools where he was also a high school coach of multiple sports.
Throughout his life, Cecil was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and close friends, making many memories along the way. He was also a member of the Welcome Hill Church of Christ of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
Cecil is preceded in death by his son Carey Lyndon “Skip” Brickell, his parents Leavie and Nellie Brickell, his sisters Linda Lloyd and Mary Ward, and brothers Bill, Leavie Jr., and Larry Brickell. He is survived by his once wife Neva Wood Brickell, their granddaughter Sierra Brickell, and sisters Margaret Lee and Myrle Helfer.
Cecil is lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was a life well lived and will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be held at Wortham Funeral Home in Hardy, Arkansas Saturday, October 22nd, 2022 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm with the memorial service to follow.
