John Franklin Ogden passed away on May 23, 2022, at his home in Myrtle, Mo., at the age of 85. John was born in Hartford, Conn. on April 13, 1937 to Quentin and Alice Ogden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Quentin and Alice Ogden; and by three siblings, Quentin, Donnie and Alice.

John is survived by his wife of 36 years, Karen; one brother, Robert Ogden (Marion); eight children, William, Alice, Anne, Anita, John Jr., Daniel, Donald, and Jonathan. 29 grandchildren, 37 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandchild who called him “Poppy”.

He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and member of the Myrtle Freewill Baptist Church.

John was a proud veteran of his 32 years of military service in the United States Marine Corps where he retired at the rank of Major.

He was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather who will be missed.

Funeral services for John Franklin Ogden were held on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Myrtle Free Will Baptist Church in Myrtle, Mo. with Joe Garrison and Ralph Douglas officiating.

Interment was on Friday, May 27, 2022 in Myrtle Cemetery in Myrtle, Mo. with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Mo.
