RALPH PATTERSON

ALEXANDRIA, IN- Ralph C. “Pat” Patterson, 94, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, October 19, 2023.

Ralph was born on May 3, 1929, in Alexandria to Carl and Ruth (Richardson Rastetter) Patterson and has lived in Alexandria most of his lifetime. He was a graduate of Alexandria High School-Class of 1947. Ralph served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in in 1954.He was a tool room machine repairman for Delco-Remy in Anderson retiring in 1993 after 43 years of employment. Upon returning from the service, he met and married Sally Ann Boyer on June 12, 1955, who preceded him in death on January 1, 2007. Ralph was a member of the Orestes Baptist Church, the former Alexandria American Legion and the former Alexandria Masonic Lodge #235. For many years, Ralph has been a certified pilot. In fact, he received his pilot’s license before he got his driver’s license. Ralph thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent flying in his Piper Cub well in to his 80’s. He was a member of the EAA Experimental Aircraft Association. From the time he was a young man, Ralph served the Lord at the Innisdale United Brethren in Christ Church, where he held every position including Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher, deacon and everything in between. He possessed an amazing faith as he served His Lord and Savior. He is survived by a family who loved and respected him. Ralph taught them many important life lessons. He was a man of his word and expected the same from others. Ralph loved his family deeply and treasured the times he was able to spend with them.

Survivors: 2 Daughters-Kimberly Knuckles of Fishers, Jan Dalton of Alexandria, Son-Mark Patterson of Anderson, 5 Grandchildren-Ty Dalton of Anderson, Cory (Hannah) Hall of Pendleton, Sally Hall of Indianapolis, Cody (Kristen) Patterson of Broadway, North Carolina, Jaymee Little of Chesterfield, 8 Great-Grandchildren-Ivy, Skyler, Savana, Brey, Kat, Charlie, Annie and Henry, Brother-Mike (Barb) Rastetter of Frankton, Sister-Patty (Jim) Baker of Frankton, Several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 51 years Sally Boyer Patterson in 2007, granddaughter-Kyle Patterson, son-in-law-Charles Knuckles. 

Services honoring Ralph’s life, legacy and faith will take place at 2 pm on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in the Noffze Funeral Home, 501 North Harrison Street, Alexandria with Chaplain Rob Mifflin officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria. The Patterson family will receive friends after 12 Noon on Wednesday in the funeral home prior to the service.
