It was a great opening day for the Highland Rebels who earned a 17-5 win over the Midland Mustangs on Feb. 27. Keagan Statler got the ball rolling for the Rebels with a first inning 2 run homerun followed by a double, 4RBI’s, and 2 stolen bases in later innings. Statler was also the starting pitcher and had 5K’s and gave up only 1 hit over 3 innings pitched. Other standout performances include Freshman James Jensen with 3 singles, 2 RBI’s, and 2 stolen bases. Nate Huckabee finished the game with 2 singles and 2 RBI’s. Freshman Mason Sinclair had his first varsity appearance on the mound pitching two innings. He earned 6 K’s and gave up one hit in two innings. Great start to the season, Rebels! Photo/Submitted
