Sidney Harlan Shankle, 72, of Ash Flat, Ark., passed from this life on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, in Ash Flat, Ark. Sidney was born June 12, 1950, in Tyronza, Ark. to Cecil Orville Shankle and Mary Isabell (Rains) Shankle.

Sidney spent his working years as a carpenter and was of the Baptist faith. Sidney never met a stranger, was loved by everyone, and was a member of the Old Farts Fishing Club. Sidney was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.

Sidney leaves to mourn his passing, three sons, Sidney Shankle, Jr. of Lansing, Mich., Adam Waldofsky of Lansing, Mich., and Bobby Wayne Woodrum of Grady, Ark.; three daughters, Cindy Davis (Tom) of Morrison, Tenn., Rachel Lynn Nelson (Douglas) of Greeneville, Tenn., and Katie Ellen Shankle of Hartsville, Tenn.; 23 grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Ralph Adrian Shankle of Ventura, Calif. and Randy Keith Shankle of Agnos, Ark.; two sisters, Mary Ann Pumphrey (Rick) of East Lansing, Mich. and Patricia Benedict (Frank) of North Street, Mich.; companion and her three children, Sheila Garrett of Agnos, Ark., James Lee Garrett of Salem, Ark., Garath Garrett of Ill., and April Beth Garrett of Cherokee Village, Ark.; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother (Jimmy Orville Shankle), and sister (Joan Ellen Jolen).

There will be a Celebration of Life and Potluck at Crown Lake Pier (Fisherman’s Park) in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, 11a.m. – 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Horseshoe Bend Boating and Fishing Sportsman’s Club (P.O.
